Personal Work
I’m Oisín, a 23-year-old artist based in Wicklow, Ireland. I created this page for my creative submission to better connect. I hope you enjoy it, as it contains projects that are personal to me for a variety of reasons.
The below collection is part of a study of my hometown’s harbour, where my grandfather worked as a sign and boat painter before turning to art full-time. It was completed over a few weeks during the 2020 lockdown as part of a school project. I used as many types of mediums as I could, using watercolour paint, acrylic, pencil and pen work - to force myself out of my comfort zone and try to get as many different textures as I could.
The below video shows a current WIP of the first project I’m rendering with Unreal - with Embergen for smoke simulation and Blender for car animation and ground interaction - and finally Davinci Resolve for colour grading and editing.
Student Reel & Socials
My most recent showreel - showing college and schoolwork, as well as some personal projects, commission work and internship Feature and Episodic junior work.
Some of my most recent pieces, similar to the one shown on the lower left, are inspired by the video games I played as a child, and my love of cars. I eventually began posting them to social media as strideros.mp4, and they’ve since resonated with millions of people across the world. I try to learn a bit more with each one - starting with static cars, then drifting cars, then moving to basic smoke sims with Embergen, and now moving my workflow to Unreal Engine.
For the stills from the attached project - I designed, created and baked the livery from scratch, and designed custom logos to add to the realism of the racing livery - rendered with Blender and graded in Davinci Resolve.
